Support Letter: What's Next?!
“What is next?” This May I graduated from Moody Bible Institute
with a degree in Intercultural Studies and the question I am getting now is,
“What is next?” Despite my expectations freshman year to graduate and move
overseas, the Lord has called me to ministry in the States for now! The Lord
used my time at Moody to grow my heart for Him, for people, and for learning in
more ways than I ever could have expected. Additionally, I was given the
opportunity to serve as a Resident Assistant for my senior year which the Lord
used to deepen my heart for mentoring and discipling women. I am excited to
continue pursuing that passion!
The Lord
opened a door for me to do a one-year residency program at Calvary Memorial
Church in Oak Park, IL. Calvary Memorial is an evangelical church with around
500 people attending on an average Sunday. I will be serving with the student
ministry discipling students and helping with administrative tasks.
Additionally, the residency emphasizes character and theological development
through regular mentorship, meetings with the senior pastor, and working under
a ministry supervisor.
Oak Park is a religiously diverse, yet largely non-Christian suburb. A large number of the students at Calvary attend Oak Park and River Forest High School, a public high school with over 3,000 students and few believers. Students are already facing the insecurity, anxiety, and depression that has sadly become typical in middle school and high school; however, the students in Oak Park are also having their faith challenged by the culture they are living in, but God is at work in Oak Park and working through Calvary! Students are being discipled and encouraged in their faith and I get to join in on that! Last summer I spent my summer leading youth camps in Estonia and I grew in a passion for discipling those younger than me. I am excited to grow in that ability and partner with God in the work He is already doing in the students of Oak Park.
Missions
is not always overseas, and I am excited to step into the ministry the Lord is
calling me to here! With that said, I am looking for people to partner with me
in this next season both through prayer and financial giving. Ultimately, the
Lord brings growth and I need people praying for both me and the students.
Additionally, I currently need $1250 monthly to support me as I serve. I am
seeking both monthly gifts (of $100, $50, $25, or another amount) and one-time
gifts. Would you consider partnering with me as I serve the students of Oak
Park with the love of Christ?
