Financial Update

It is hard to believe that a month from now I will be on a plane to Australia.

I just wanted to update all of you on a few things, but first I wanted to thank all of those who are praying for me and those who have donated to my trip. Without your support this would not be happening.

My total goal for this trip is around $10,000 and so far I have raised $2,450. So I am almost a quarter of the way there! So far I have had to purchase my airfare and the required overseas health insurance. Also, I have had a few people ask if the donations are tax deductible so I wanted to answer for others that might be wondering as well. Unfortunately, since the organization I am working with is overseas, the donations are not tax deductible. I understand that might make a difference in your decision making, so I wanted to make sure you all are aware of that.

The next big payment is coming up next Saturday, August 10th, which will be about a third of the total payments. That covers the cost of the first 12 weeks of this experience including living expenses, training, and outreach that will put our studies into practice throughout that area of Australia.

In September and October there will be additional costs for airfare and preparations for the second phase, the eight weeks of outreach outside of Australia (location yet to be determined).

I cannot fully express the depth of my gratitude.  I am so excited to see how this money goes not only to touch the lives of those I interact with but also how it will help provide for this trip that is going to challenge and grow me more than I even know. For my prayer supporters, please pray that I will feel confident in Christ and in my faith and that I will have peace as I am working out all the details of this trip as it gets closer.
